Happy Half Birthday, Son.

Charlie, 6 months ago you entered this world.  To our surprise you were a few days ahead of schedule, but you came at the perfect time.  Your dad and I had just enjoyed a four day fall break together.  I wanted to work the first day back from break because my classroom was out of sorts being painted.  I didn't want to work any longer, however, because I was tired of writing sub plans.  And then, just like that-you started your entrance to the world that evening.  Since that day our lives have been forever changed, but a thousand times more blessed.

This month you have changed so much! You sit up on your own now.  Your eyes are clear blue and your dimples a mile deep.  Your personality shines when you get that ornery laugh as you wave your arms.  You love to play Peek-a-Boo, and sometimes play it by yourself with your favorite yellow blanket.  You sometimes lean in for a bear hug from me.  You giggle when Dad walks in the room.  You want to crawl soo badly, but for now are an expert scooter and circle turner.  You love your Exersaucer and stuffed Panda.  You have had a rough time sleeping lately but last week slept all night 2 nights in a row! Your Dad and I were so thankful.  I almost teared up when you rode in the stroller like a big boy for the first time.  I did tear up rocking you to sleep the other night.  You are quick to roll over and will put anything in your mouth.  You eat solid foods now.  To no one's surprise, I haven't found a food yet that you don't like.  Squash, sweet potatoes, peas, pears, bananas, avocados-you devour them all.  You love your cousin Rosie and can't wait to meet your new cousin Gio any day now.   You are happiest in a room full of people, everyone says you are such a good baby.  You love to play with your feet and your little keys.  You have a really strong grip when you pull my hair. :)  You keep us entertained with your singing voice, especially when there is music playing.

I hope someday you read this Charlie and know how happy you have made us in your short life.  I love you, son.
